The George is closed until November 5th for essential improvement work and some careful restoration. Rest assured, as a Grade I-listed building all work will remain in keeping with the history of our beautiful inn, and we can’t wait to show you what we have planned.
Our sister pub The Fleur de Lys and accommodation at The Plaine remain open throughout the closure.

This twin room is located on the first floor of The George, and accessible through the courtyard via our beautiful Tudor balcony. The room offers two single beds and a view over the beer garden and cricket fields beyond. Ensuite bathroom with standalone shower and luxury Bramley toiletries. Please note this room is dog-friendly – dogs are charged at £20.00 per stay.
All rooms offer free WIFI, tea and coffee-making facilities, and Smart TVs.
